More than just steel work

If you drive past the construction site, you will most certainly notice the steel structure of the new Hospital building taking shape. What you may not see, however, are other activities that are also occurring.
For example, we have poured concrete floors on the second and third floors of the west tower and have begun the spray fireproofing installation on the second floor of the west tower (in the space that will eventually become the Intensive Care Unit).
The spray fireproofing represents the start of a long chain of activities to build out the interior spaces. Prior to the fireproofing, our crews were laying out the interior partitions by spray painting the future walls on concrete floors.
Additionally, in the south tower we have poured concrete on the first floor (under the patient tower), creating a continuous floor from the west end of the new Hospital to the east end near the existing Center for Health.
