General Volunteering

The information desk, patient transport, room service, gift and resale shops, surgical and critical care waiting areas, rehabilitative services, medical library, hospice, Telecare, clerical and support services are just some of the areas served by our volunteers. In order to make your volunteer experience as rewarding as possible, the Volunteer Services staff works closely with you to match your skills and interests to a volunteer position. Orientation and customer service training is essential to your enjoyment as a volunteer.

Teen Volunteers

Teen volunteers must be 14 years of age and in high school. Teens must also attend an orientation session before volunteering. Orientations are held on a monthly basis on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Gutzmer Board Room at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.
