Preparing for Surgery

When surgeries are planned in advance, most patients come into the Hospital on the day of the surgery. Upon arrival, proceed first to the Admitting Department. After completing the admission process, most surgical patients are directed to the Ambulatory Surgery area on the 4th floor to prepare for surgery.

  • Pediatric surgical patients under the age of 14 are prepared for surgery in the Pediatric area on the 3rd floor.
  • C-section patients are prepared for surgery in the Family Birthing Center on the 3rd floor.
  • Heart surgery patients are prepared for surgery on the cardiovascular unit.
